This Privacy Policy explains what information Holotype collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to run the store and ship your acquisitions — nothing more.
What we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Order information: name, email, shipping address, items purchased, order total. Provided by you at checkout.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only a tokenized reference and the last four digits.
- Communications: when you email us, your message and email address.
- Site usage: standard server logs (IP address, browser, referring page, timestamp). Used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
- Cookies: we use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies (cart contents in your browser’s local storage; Lab admin session for staff only). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To process and ship your orders.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmation, shipping notice).
- To respond to support inquiries.
- To maintain the Registry record of your acquisitions.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting).
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not use it for ad-targeting on or off our site.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with these partners:
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Printful — fulfillment partner; receives shipping name + address + the items to produce. Subject to Printful’s privacy policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Supabase — database + file storage where order and Registry records live.
- Vercel — hosting.
Your choices
You have the following rights with respect to your personal information, subject to local law:
- Request access to the information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our obligation to retain records required by tax and accounting law.
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time (link in every message).
To exercise these rights, write to support@holotype.shop. We respond within 30 days.
Retention
We retain order records for as long as required by law (typically seven years for tax and accounting). Registry records are kept permanently as a matter of brand promise (provenance is forever); you may request that your name be redacted from the public Registry while the serial number itself remains.
Children
Holotype is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Holotype is based in the United States; our service providers may be located in other jurisdictions. By using the Service you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than yours.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
